  • It's like coming home.

I did Atkins for about year, 2003-2004 but strayed when I went back to teaching. I had convinced myself that I could just watch what I eat and it'd be fine, but there is just no doubt that carbs are my enemy and I can't lose weight while eating them. I gained 20 lbs my first year back and 15 my second. not a good pattern. A few months ago, I joined Weight Watchers and lost a few, but I always feel hungry and I really feel like I'm "dieting".

So I'm back. It feels like coming home. I know what to eat and I feel in control again. I do not feel hungry. I know it's going to take a lot of strength just to get back down to the size I was in when I started "watching what I ate". But I'm sure now that I won't stray again.

PS - I recognize a few names from the old ABTB group....

Welcome and happy first post! I did WW too years ago and "white knuckled" it the whole craving time. Atkins Rocks and the world is catching on! I just love going to a restaurant and seeing Atkins on the menu.

HI JOSIE!! (and hi Lisa too!)

I am also coming back to the boards after a haitus (mine was mostly medical, but partly mental)

I wanted to let you know I remember you!! Gosh you made such great recipes in the old days. I still remember your "Perfect Cheesecake" recipe. It was the bomb! If it's not still posted, you really must get it up there. (lol and if you don't still have it. I DO! )

ANYWAY. I've been on Induction since Monday, it's going great so far.
                  I wish you much success!

LOL - I don't really have it, but I stick with the same recipe and it's on the Good Eats website (Food Network), except that I sub a mixture of Splenda and erythritol for the sugar. Nice to know it made an impression!!! Even when I stopped Atkins, I still made cheesecake the same because it just doesn't make sense to put sugar in it.
