  • Back for good this time!

    Saying hello...

I did Atkins a year ago and lost 33 pounds and 30" overall...half of what I needed to lose in just over two months. I was feeling and looking better than I had in a LONG time. Went to a wedding in California and blew it. So, instead of coming back home and jumping back in, I decided that I liked M&M's and Root Beer more than being thin and healthy. BAD DECISION.

So, back at 196 pounds on my 5'6" frame, I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired yet again. It's hard to work in the health field when you aren't healthy. I feel like a hypocrite.

Today is Day #1 for me and I know I can make it. I was just fine last year with cravings and "will power". I had it all....and I will have it again. Once these first few days pass, I will be on my way.

I don't really have a goal weight...we'll see how I feel as I lose, but I have chosen 136 just to keep the numbers even. It may be 140 or 130 in the end, but the number isn't important to me. It's the way I feel.

I didn't post much last year, just read your posts. This time, I would like to participate more. So, with that, thank you all for the inspiration. Success stories and trial/tribulation stories help more than you know.

BirdDawg! Your stats are close to mine. You're a little taller than I am, but still, the weight is about the same. I started in March and look at me now. I've lost 40 pounds! You can do it too!

Re: Back for good this time!

Thanks for the welcome, Ladies. So...kind of a funny thing happened today...

I wear scrubs to work and last fall bought a smaller scrub size and tossed the larger ones. Well, I've been wearing them even though I've gotten fat again. The inside of one of the thighs was wearing VERY thin from the constant rubbing together of my inner thighs. Guess what happened today...yes, a good sized hole finally formed. So....now what? Hope I can make them last or buy a bigger pair and then a smaller pair in a couple months? (And, yes, I wear the same pair every day...they were too expensive to buy two sets last fall and they are clean every day. )

Anyway, I find it ironic that the hole appeared the very day I comitted myself to this way of life again.
