  • New Guy

    Hi everybody.

I have been reading this forum for about a week now. I started induction last Thursday. I started losing weight in April but ran into some snags, so I have come to Atkins to jumpstart me again. I hope to get to know you all very well and look forward to learning from you all.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

The name combines two of my favorite guitar players. My real name is Josh.
I have already stolen some recipes from the board that have worked out nicely. The scale thing will be my weakness, although I did lose nine lbs. this first week (low carb and exercise). Also, I have been drinking a ton of water; well a ton for me (120-150 oz a day). I am too embarassed to tell my weight at the moment.

Once again, thank you for the welcome.

            Re: New Guy

Welcome to ADBB, Josh. You say you are coming here to jumpstart your weight loss? You should stay with the diet past the jumpstart phase of Induction. The diet continues with Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) Pre-maintenance and maintenance. If you are so heavy you're too embarrased to tell US (like we aren't or haven't been as well), you may need to learn a new Way Of Eating (WOE) so you don't put the weight back on once you lose most of it doing induction. Again, Welcome!

Josh don't be embarassed by your weight bro....I was pushing 295, I've lost 50 pounds in over 3 months. 50 pounds bro.....that's like a huge bag of dry dog food. I picked one up at the store and told my wife, I lost this!!!

You'll be okay man! By the way....Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page? Which one, myself, I love em both.....where would music be today without either one!!!

                  Good Luck man!

Shoot that's a no lose situation there. Actually, I was referring to Hendrix, although Zeppelin is an all-time favorite. And if I was 295, I would probably sing it from the mountain tops, hehe. Good job on losing the big bag of dog food. That is really amazing.
