  • Am I missing something ???

    I have to admit that I keep feeling like I am not doing something right on Atkins because I am able to enjoy my food, and get full!!!! Last night I did have about 1/4 cup of orange pop, but it was due to being tired of water an being thirsty for it. I eat scrambles eggs (4) with 1/4 cup of cheese and 1/4 shredded ham. I scrambel them in about a T of butter and split them between breakfast and lunch. I have a real bad sweet tooth, so I have an atkins bar for 2 pts mid day. For supper I have my veggies and meat. Last night I had a hamberger with fried onions, LC ketchup, lettuce with mayo, and a diet rootbeer with a splash of cream. I felt like I had just screwed up, but I re read and nothing was listed as not acceptable. Tonight I am planning to cook tacos for my son, and I plan to have the hamburger mixture, lettuce, tomatos, and cheese. This is stuff I would eat if I was not on a diet!! How can this be?? Is there anyone who would be willing to read my food journals for a couple of days and tell me if I am doing this right???. I love my bread, crackers and sweets, but it is amazing how little I miss them when I can freely eat more meat. Any feed back would help me. I do not want to get a week down the road and have gained weight form doing it wrong!!!!. So. . .I am calling on you experts!

    Are you using FITDAY to track your eating? Try it for a few days just to be sure you're not going over carbs. That's the best way to know and if you have trouble, you can make it public so we can analyze what you're eating.

      Hi and welcome to ADBB and Atkins!

      I know what you mean, it seems unbelievable, it's so yummy!

      Reading your description of a typical day, there are a couple things I'd change up:
      *Spread out your veggies through the day, possibly add some spinach, mushrooms, to your scrambled eggs and cheese.
      *Avoid the Atkins bars, even though the book does say they're okay for emergencies, most on the board recommend avoiding them. Kill the sugar monster and you'll kill the sweet tooth!

      How much water are you drinking on a daily basis?
