    Well, I have been on atkins for a week and gained 1 and 1/2 lbs. I would welcom a review of my menu. I am so tired I can barely wake up in the morning. I feel worse today that I did before I started. Yesterday I walked and it felt like I was dragging cement blocks along. I really need a buddy to have constant feedback from. I know everyone is busy and it is alot to ask, but I WILL NOT make it without this support!!! I am about ready to give up again. This is what I mean by no rewards. Eventhe smallest success would keep me going, but to GAIN weight!!!

    Is there anyone who has done this and been successful that would be willing to review my food, excersie, ect. I am willing to do this fo naother week, but once again, I need to know I am doing the right thing. I am so depressed right now I have been in tears all morning. I am looking for some feedback buddies.

    Teresa!!!! I just started about a week ago and I really do not consider myself a pro as I am learning every minute of the day as long as I am in this board
    I am sure someone can review your menu.. I wish I could but like I say I am still learning things myself...
    are u drinking any diet sodas? if so that could be part of the problem!!!!
    Hang in there hun I am sure you will start loosing soon sweetie!

      Tereas, could you post a couple of days worth of sample menus? We'll take a look and critique them for you.

      I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

        I would be happy to do that, and apprecative of your help. I have gathered my senses here again after weighing and am ready to open this up to help from others for a week. I will post all I eat drink and activites. PLEASE be as honest as nessesary was you review. I am going to make a new start at induction starting today! Should I post my food and excersis here or in a differnet forum?

        Again, I thnak all of you for your willingness. I know everyone is busy with their own lives and it is only out of genuinely wanting to help that you do this. Thank you very much.

            Teresa, I feel for ya, I'm sure you can tweak somthing and make the scales move. Do you know that at that "time of month" most women gain. I myself have gained up to 8 pounds. It doesn't leave the day it stops, it takes me 3-4 days later to see a whooshie, but I do see it and I'm always less than i started. Maybe that TOM is messing with the scales, just don't let it mess with your mind. Keep doing it and you will lose. Anytime you need to talk, I'm on this board constantly and you can PM me. You can do this and this board allows us to do it together.

              Let's have a look - enter quantities of EVERY thing you consumed for a whole day, if possible, right down to seasonings and sweeteners, supplements, meds and drink. (Yes, how much water, too.) And check the accuracy of your scales, they've been known to occasionally misread. One other thing, have you measured? Do your clothes feel looser?
              Sometimes you can still be losing fat, but it won't show as weight lost if it is offset by water retention. If it is around your TOM, hormones can cause several pounds of bloat for days!

                how about starting a journal in the journal chat section you will get tons of daily support and you can visit other folk's journals too and get your mind off your struggles.

                as to your menu post it in the review my menu section and copy it to your journal and you will get lost of advice and support.

                  Here is my last two days;


                  Wednsday july 26th

                  I scrambled 5 eggs, added 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, and 1/4 cup of shredded ham/ Cooked it in about 1 T of butter. I ate half for breakfast, adn half for lunch. With the lunch I ate a fresh cucumber withseasonsed salt and pepper on it.

                  I had an atkins carmel bar, drank 3 16 OZ dasani flavored water

                  Evening:

                  3 hot dogs with 2 T low carb ketchup
                  lettuce with 3 T (?) of MAyo
                  16 OZ diet rootbeer with 2 T or so of Cream.

                  Drank 1 more 16 oz dasani flavored water.

                  No purposeful excersise

                  Thursday:

                  I ran out of time to pack food, so I had a Atkins peanut butter krisp bar for breakfast, and for lunch. I also had 2 atkins peanut bars, and a 16 oz aquafina sparkling water. (with Aspartame) No more of that.

                  Evening:

                  Hamburgur 1/4 lb? lettuce and 3 to 4 T Mayo. 1 1/2 cups pork rinds
                  16 oz rootbeer with 1/4 c cream.

                  2 16 oz dasani flavored waters

                  walked 2 miles.

                  I think my typing stuff out for people will be a good idea because just typing it I can see some things that I should do diffrenet. I cannot get on the journal chat so I am posting here for now!

                    Look at the cover of your book and see if it is DR ATKINS NEW DIET REVOLUTION. if so check out chapter 11 induction cause you need sone serious food changes. first we eat veggies on Atkins 3 whole cups of the acceptable veggies every day during induction and more during the OWL phase.

                    next those bars are not what we should be eating during induction. check the ingredients against the acceptable foods lists and you will see. ditch the bars ditch the proceesed foods add the rest of your veggies and then eat only enough food to satisfy your hunger and see what happens next week with that eatting plan and doing the mandatory exercise part of your Atkins.

                        also wheere is your water? 64 ounces of plain water is required and even more if you are more then 25 pounds over weight. water is needed for weight loss checkout the FAQ topic on why you need water to lose weight and you will be chugging it.

                            You may want to think about sticking to only whole foods. By definition, whole foods are any food in its raw, unrefined form. This includes all the unprocessed grains, beans, vegetables and meats. Now since you're just starting out, forget about the grains and beans and stick to the vegetables and meats.

                            This means, nothing prepackaged. If you're really serious, cut out the hot-dogs and bacon too, as they are "processed foods" and contain a lot of sodium.

                            Another important factor is what you're drinking. Get rid of everything but water and I guarantee you'll see results.

                            And, no Atkins prepackaged foods either, especially the bars. I suspect they're are what's keeping the weight on. Oh and one more thing, utilize Fitday.com. There you can see exactly what you're putting in your mouth. I promise if you eat only whole foods, at the right ratios and drink your water, the weight will melt off.
