Hi everyone. This is my first time doing Atkins. I tried doing Southbeach before this but gave up within a few days. I think it's a little too lenient for me, if that makes sense.
I guess it's just that if there's more stuff to eat, there's more of a possibility to screw up. Or maybe that's just me.
Anyway. I've kind of had a history with weight loss. I'm currently 5 feet tall and weigh 250 lbs. I know, that's a huge amount for someone so short. I'm surprised I'm not dead already
My weight gain is really my own fault. I never eat out of depression. In fact, when I'm depressed, I can't stomach anything. I just never exercised before. And although I don't eat very much during the day and when I do, I eat healthy, I have this horrible habit of binging at night. I've heard of NES (Night Time Eating Syndrome) but I don't know how real that is. But that's what happens to me. I'm careful during the day but at night, all heck breaks loose and I eat like there's no tomorrow. And so I've gained a lot of weight.
I'm hoping Atkins would help teach me discipline and restraint when it comes to food. Today's my first day. So far so good. I haven't craved any carbs at all so far. I never do in the day time. But it's night time what I'm afraid of.
I'm extremely serious about losing weight. I've had enough of putting everything off just because of my weight. It's time to take action!
