    YES. I am a carb addict.
    I PIG OUT on Mash potatoes , rice, bread and sweets.
    Tonight was my LAST pig out session.
    I really need to lose weight. I dont know how much I weigh but it is close to 250. I hope this site is very active becasue I need MOTIVATION.

    we are all addicted to carbs here...dont fret..this is a great site for support and facts..so do some research and definitely read Dandr (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution)

    I started a induction challenge starting Monday 7/31..you should join..remember baby steps.. also www.fitday.com free site where you can log in your food intake for the day. great way to keep track.

      Welcome Noor! Good to have you with us. ADBB is a great place for information and inspiration.
      Remember a few main things:

      Read the book (DANDR 2002 edition - which is the last version Dr A himself wrote)
      Low carb
      Exercise - as much as you can, increasing gradually
      Water - loads and loads of it.

        Scooter here, we all have the same issue. Pizza Diet Cokes, Big Macs, Rice, Pasta, Bread yada yada yada. You've made the right decision by coming here. Lots of success stories. Lots of great free information.

        Buy the book, read the book, live the book, and you too will be on your way to a much healthier, lively life style my friend!

        I do not even crave any of those bad things anymore! I can't believe how easy this is!!

          You've come to the right place, there's many in the same situation and many that have beat the weight, so there's a lot experience and knowledge to share!

            You're in good company. I too am a carb addict. Seriously after eating like this for a couple monthes, I care not to eat them anymore. They make me sick, tired and feel bloated. You will get there and not want to look back. My enemies were sweets, candy, anything little debbie, pie...........you can do this.

                Congratulations on taking control of your weight and beginning a life-style change that will make you healthier and happier. We all start out addicted to our favorite carbs and with the negative thinking that we can't live without them. But, soon you start to feel fantastic, in control of your body and the craving for those carbs goes away.

                Make a plan to help you through the times that will arise that are stressful and hard to stay on your weight loss journey. Keep a journal of your success and become active in the forum with challenges, making friends and setting goals for yourself. YOU CAN DO IT. We are all here to help you achieve your goals and make it happen!!!

                  Welcome aboard! I will say that after going without carbs for 5 months (that is how long it took me to lose all the weight) I no longer crave carbs. I am in maintenance, and have low carb bread, and eat on occasion low carb icecream (made with splenda). Regardless, once you rid your body of the carbs..you will no longer/rarely have gas, acid reflux, acid indegestion, etc. Go for a while without the carbs, and all that goes away. When you go back to eating carbs, it all comes back and it aint purty. My husband had carbs and said "wow, I just farted for the first time in months" LMAO! I know it's a little TMI, but so true! Anyway, give it some time...you won't miss the carbs either. You can do it!!
