    Hi everyone!

My name is Karen and I am new to the boards here but not Atkins.

In 2003, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance and the doctor put me on Atkins. August 4th is my 3 year anniversary!

I did really well the first 6 months and lost 56 pounds.. then between endometriosis problems resulting in a Hysterectomy in 2004 as well as Asthma that will not stablize, I am vasilating from 160-180. As of today I am again on Prenisone for a horrible cough and tight chest.

It is only 6 days of steriods (I hope) but I am starting to think I have Yeast issues too. The Asthma keeps reoccuring this year and the spit test showed positive for yeast. So as of this morning I am working on becoming yeast free and lose the sugar cravings.

I am looking forward to posting with all of you!
    Karen

Hi Karen. You've definitely come to the right place for information, encouragement and motivation. We've all had different obstacles that we've faced during our journey to get healthy. The secret to success is to not allow those obstacles to become excuses that keep you from achieving your goal. There are many forums in the ADBB which will help you stay focused and give you motivation to keep going.

I had a total hysterectomy last August and then had both my knees replaced this summer. When we face these hard spots, it slows us down, but we must keep a positive attitude and become more determined to succeed. You can do this. We are all here to help you and cheer you on. Check out the forums on yeast and other issues. Many of our members struggle with this and can give you great advice.

I am glad to be here! I had to post a quick intro and then had to leave for a few hours! I really appreciate all the support!

So far today I am doing well.. no yeast loving foods and LOTS of water! Now if I could just breathe properly again!
