I went on Atkins about 4 years ago and I lost 70lbs! I looked great and felt sooo healthy...well...I started cheating a little here and there. I would go back on Atkins and then ruin it a few weeks later so I would keep on restarting. The thing with me is that the days I was on the diet would get shorter and the days I was off got longer. Now I cant go through a half a day on Atkins even if my life depended on it! I need HELP because im eating like crazy. I try to tell my self to stick to it because I know for a fact that after a couple weeks my food cravings diminish and I do fine, but no I end up binging soooo much...I cant just throw away the food I binge on b/c I live with my family, and they love junk food... they aren’t about to change anything. When I first started I was at 195 then I got down to 125 now I don’t even know how much I weigh. Maybe 215 last times I checked it was 210. I want this to work and for me to stay on it soooo bad. I don’t even like to go out or shopping anymore because I feel so fat and repulsive... I wont even eat around my mom b/c it makes her sad...and im sick of people telling me I have such a beautiful face! Even a customer who got mad at me because SHE didn’t have enough money in her account to cash a check told me to join weight watchers b/c im huge!!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!! By the way HI im Lauren…

Re: H E L P !!!!
Hi Lauren and welcome to ADBB.
It sounds like you're very frustrated, but there are no easy answers...you're going to have to get through the first days and get rid of those cravings, it's that hard and that simple.
BUT, the good thing is you can post here when you feel weak and get a pep talk! Join an exercise challenge, start a journal ... find something here to motivate yourself and stay strong! We're here for you!!
You might want to check out the 14 Day Induction Forum and the Second Time Around Club ... there are people there that are where you are and many that can help you with their experiences.
You can do this!

Re: H E L P !!!!
Hey Lauren,
I've been in your boat. Last Monday I started for the last time, and the cravings have finally gone away. I could look at an espresso brownie yesterday without wanting to buy it and eat it. It helps me not to think about a couple of weeks when cravings are gone, but to be like, if you look at something and want to eat it, ask yourself if you're hungry, if you are, then eat something that's atkins friendly. This also required me to go to the grocery store 3 times last week to find appetizing items that I can eat in a hurry. I made some cucumber slices topped with chive and onion cream cheese with lox on top (I'm not sure if this is completely induction friendly depending how much you eat of it) and stuck them in the fridge so when I wanted something, they were right there. After eating them, if you still have the craving, go back to evaluating if you're actually hungry or if you just want *that* particular food.

Re: H E L P !!!!
Welcome to ADBB, Lauren! You have come to the right place for help, support & motivation! Definitely take Sheshy's advice and check out those forums. I have been on Atkins several times, and like you, this is my last time! I hang out at the Second Time Around Club forum for this reason... so check it out! I am sure you will find what you are looking for at ADBB. Re-read the book, commit to doing a clean induction, check in with us everyday and keep posting. Maybe posting your menu will help you get through those first few days, as it will make you more accountable to sticking with it. Good luck to you! I look forward to hearing about your successes!!!

Re: H E L P !!!!
Hey, Lauren! I like to tell people that they're never a failure if they keep getting up and trying again. So, you've already started back on the road to health and weight loss!
I'd also like to point out that after being on the boards for three years and having, myself, struggled with a 2 1/2 year stall, the people who are successful are the ones who don't regard this as simply another "diet". When it finally clicks that this is a "way of LIFE", forever, it makes a big difference. It's not something to go on and off. It's a way of eating. It's the way you eat. It's hard work. But the rewards are enormous and it CAN BE DONE! I was a huge carb monster and my eating was totally out of control for years. I've adopted the attitude that I will let NOTHING interfere with my WOE. I take food with me when I need to. I don't care what other people think of what I choose to eat or choose not to eat. I focus of what's good for my body.
So, let this WOE empower you to do what you need to do for yourself. It works. You know it works. Good luck!
