  • Trying Again

    Hello All!

    I had always been overweight and quiet frankly I am sick of being overweight!!

    I did Atkins in 2003 and I was successful. I lost 30lbs in three months and I felt great! I gained that 30 pounds plus!!

    Now at 30 and 223 lbs. I am not only ready for a change I am ready to feel and look great again.

    I hope this board will be my support system because in 03' Atkins was a fad that everyone was on. There were products available everywhere that supported the Atkins Lifestyle, but apparently that has all died down. Therefore, I am very thankful I found this website.

    I wish everyone the best of luck and much success!

    Hi Sleek;

    Welcome to ADBB! Although a lot of the products, etc. that went along with the "Fad" phase of Atkins seem to have disappeared, you'll find here a very "by-the-book" approach that emphasizes the importance of fresh, whole, natural foods and training your body with exercise. As for support, you could not have found yourself in better hands.

    Good luck to you; re-read your Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002 Edition (it's referred to exclusively here) and if you don't have your copy yet, be sure to get your hands on one. It really simplifies the process a great deal. Keep us posted on your progress.

    Looking forward to seeing you around the boards!

    S.

      Re: Trying Again

      Welcome to ADBB, Sleek! Glad that you found us here. Definitely take Laker75's advice and get the book, if you haven't already. I had done Atkins in the past too (a few times) - and fell off the wagon. But i am back and this time for good. One of the things i am doing differently this time is that i am reading the whole book (not just skipping to the induction rules and just reading that!). Plus, i am pretty sure that i had an outdated copy last time anyway. It does help to go by the book!

      Keep posting and checking in with us! And since you've been on Atkins before, please check out the "Second Time Around Forum" ~ see you around!
