Hi everyone,
I've been trolling this forum since I started Atkins about 2 months ago. I love all the support and advice. It's so funny to see everyone has gone through the same stuff I was experiencing.
I had a pretty difficult first few days of induction, giving up coffee, alcohol, and carbs all at once. Once I got through it, I felt so much better.
I'm 25 years old and I've always been really into controlling my diet and exercise. I started Atkins, not so much because I needed to lose a lot of weight, but because my mother's boyfriend was reading the book and I picked it up just to be more knowledgable about what's out there.
What DANDR says about carbs, processed food, etc. is so dead on and made so much sense that I couldn't help but try it out. I must say I am very impressed with how the diet affects you. I feel so CLEAN.
I'm really into strength training and while my strength did suffer a bit by cutting out the carbs, I am slowly regaining it. My body fat is getting to be the lowest it's ever been I think.
Overall, I'm just very happy to be here and want to share my experiences with everyone else as well as provide advice to other people out there that need it.
Thanks to everyone for all the great info.
Patrick.
