  • I'd like to introduce myself

    Hi,

I started the Atkins Diet in 2003 and had lost 68 lbs. I was a little over half-way to my goal. I felt great. But for some reason I started cheating more and more until I was completely off my diet. Needless to say I regained 30 lbs in a year. I feel so ashamed. My weekness is chocolate. To me giving up chocolate is harder than quitting smoking. I just feel lost right now. I don't know what to do to get myself motivated again and to stay on this plan.

    Welcome Chocoholic!

Chocolate was my weakness, too. But never fear, the addiction can and will be broken through a clean induction! As for getting yourself motivated...I would reread Dr. Atkin's book...that's what got me motivated when I first started thinking about going on the Atkins plan. If I hadn't read the book I'm quite sure I would have fell off the wagon right smartly. Also, think of how you looked and felt when you lost 68lbs before? You want to feel that way again, right! Well use that as your motivation and the boards as your support

Best of luck on your weight loss journey and if you need anything just give me a shout!

Another source of inspiration is to come here to the ADBB when you feel frustrated. If you make friends with the other members, participate in the forums and challenges, it will help build your self-esteem in yourself and keep you motivated. The two-week induction will help with the craving for chocolate. My obstacle was bread and when I first started, I couldn't imagine going without it. I no longer eat it and I don't miss it at all.

Best wishes. Make a plan to succeed. Never look back, look forward to a new healthier and thinner life. You can do it!! We are all here to help.

The people here are awesome and everyone wants to see you succeed. You won't find any naysayers here who give you negative remarks or make you feel bad about yourself. We are all working together to make it happen. You'll find people here are anxious to hear about your progress and help you work through any obstacles that you are having.

        Hi Jace and dreamof145!

Thank you for responding so quickly. I really appriciate the encouragement. This is something i really need right now. I will read the book again and start induction in the morning. I hope that I will be as strong as I was the first time I was on Atkins. Not only because of my weight but also because I am insulin resistant and have PCOS.
