I've been lurking around these forums for a couple of days now so I thought I'd come in and introduce myself.
I am a restart. My husand and I, along with a friend, did Atkins about two years ago and it went really well. I lost about 30 lbs and my husban lost about 50 lbs. I never knew what my friend lost exactly because she never would tell me and I wasn't going to push it but I know it was over 60. Well as happen sometimes, we fell off the wagon. We have all gained it back plus some (alot). My husband and I are going to start back on Monday. I get the weekend to get my kitchen in order. We are really going to try and stick with it this time. Ofcourse, I have said that in the past with other things, but I'm really going to try this time. I did it once before, why can't I do it again? Right now I'm at about 200 lbs. I'm 5'9" and unfortunately have a large frame so even if I loose all my weight I'll still never wear less than a size 10 but that's really ok, I just want to feel better about myself. My husband is 6'6 and about 345 lbs. He has started having trouble sleeping. He says when he lays down it gets harder for him to breathe. I think being more concerned about him is what has really motivated me to want to try this again. Anyway enough about me. I really like these forums. I have learned alot in the last couple of days. Some of this stuff could have really helped last time we did this.
One thing I am curious about is that when my friend and I started gaining the weight back it seems as though most of it came back in our stomaches. Is this a predispisition thing or maybe just because it came back so fast? Just curious.
Ya'll have a great weekend and I'll see you all around the boards.
P.S. Please disregard my typing. Computer went kaput, am having to use my laptop. Hate this thing.
