Hi, I'm new to
and have enjoyed reading for quite a while, and now it's time for me to get to it. It's exciting to be here where there is so much success, support and knowledge of the Atkins' plan. I'm ashamed to say that this is my second time around on Atkins. My husband of 25 years loves to follow Atkins as well, and we enjoy cooking up fantastic Atkins' recipes together. We have fun with it, and I feel fortunate to have him as a diet partner and great support. Other than each other, we have no support in our families or friends. In fact, we are met with opposition, and they are rude to us when they find out we choose to follow Atkins. Although it's hard to ignore it, we do so to keep the peace. We have never made a big thing about our diet to anyone, but they find out when we make our food choices. We keep each other on track during our weak moments, but after each keeping 70+ pounds off for over two years, we became lazy together and stopped counting carbs, and then later, started to eat things we shouldn't have. Soon, we added breads daily, and I can't do that yet, if ever. Once I do, that's it--I'm feeling starved and out to eat it all and then some. At this point, nothing fills me up. When I stay on plan, I'm never hungry. I also have a hard time making it through stressful times in my life, so I'm ready to work though that. With my Atkins NDR book and highlighter in hand, I'm ready to do this. I'm ready to get off the expensive high blood medication again and use that money for new clothes. I'm ready to feel all the healthy benefits again. I'm ready to stay on Atkins through this long weekend. I'm ready to stop planning which halloween candies I will buy. Oh, and I love my treadmill, so this week I've dusted it off and have started to use it daily. I am no longer winded when I walk short distances. I already feel great! Thanks for listening, Babs

I Recently Went To The Doctor For A Checkup And I Told Her I Was Doing Atkins. I Said This Is My Sixth Week And I've Lost 16lbs. She Said That She Was Sending Me To A Nutritionalist Because The Diet Was Not Healthy.
Boy Talk About Your Misinformed. Well I Decided To Just Keep Following My Plan And Skip That Appt. I'll Just Do What Dr. Atkins Says. I Belive He Knows What He's Talking About.
