  • Back on the wagon

    Hi everybody:

This is my first time posting here, but I've been doing Atkins since Jan. 1, 2004...with a "break" from last December until this past August 1. It started with a couple small cheats around Christmas and then I went right down that slippery slope and found myself eating bread off the restaurant table by June!

My first two years on Atkins became a life-changing experience. I lost 32 lbs. over 7 months, but more importantly, for the first time in my adult life I stopped experiencing cravings, hunger-induced crankiness and binges. I kicked a wicked caffeine habit the first week (sick as a dog for 3 days). I truly believe this diet saved me from the road to diabetes.

Anyway, I started induction again on August 1, and since then have dropped 7 3/4 lbs. My first goal is to hit 134 lbs. by Sept. 14, when I depart for a ten-day backpacking trip in the Swiss Alps...both because I know I'll be more comfortable hiking at a lighter weight, and because the cheese in Switzerland is an Atkins girl's dream...I know I'll be wanting to eat a little extra!

I feel so much better being back on the program, and I'm delighted to find this community...so much accumulated wisdom, experience and support! I'm looking forward to making lots of good friends.

    Thanks,
    getfunded

      You can do it!

I'm getting back on board also... if we don't take care of our health in order to live, how else are we going to make it? I don't plan on taking drugs and making poor excuses for the rest of my life, so today is the day for change. I wish you the best in your endeavors, and you will succeed, keep at it for life.
