Just started. Tried months ago. Tell me this.... how liberally should one take eating fats, etc... Last time I did it extremely liberally eating hamburger with a lot of fat; cream; butter, etc... and didn't lose.

This time I'm thinking i should limit to fish, lean chicken, lean beef, lean pork, etc...

Any thoughts / suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Re: New Here

I can't believe I'm saying this... the hard corers around here would be proud of me... but I recommend you read the book. This diet doesn't work when you just "avoid bread, pasta, and sweets" -- there are very strict rules to be followed. Your diet should be 65% fat, 30% protien, and 5% carbs. But, not just any fat and carbs... read the book. Or, at a minimum, go to Atkins.com and read (and follow) the induction food list...

You should keep your fats at about 65% of your calories during the first couple of weeks.
If your not losing, post your menus and the experts will take a look. It might be your eating something that is causeing you to stall. Welcome aboard. Glad you joined
