    Hi!

    I'm so excited I have to share! This morning is the start of day 5 and I've already lost 4lbs! I am so excited! I was even excited to realize that I have the Atkins-diet-doing-well symptoms like the sweet breath and (sorry) Atkins pee! My clothes are already feeling looser and I love it! It hasn't been that hard to be strict even when, as I ate my crab, goat cheese, basil & paprika fritatta I made and was so excited about, all I wanted was to eat my best friends Life Ceral with a banana she was eating... But I perservered and another pound came off! I have honestly never felt more in control of myself than I do on Atkinds. And I love that people can come here and vent, or share or inspire other people!

    One thing though, I'm finding that I'm hungry all of the time! I could eat my own arm! Any body know of any really filling foods you can eat on Atkins? I know that flax has a lot of fibre in it and I'm going to make flax muffins today, but anything else?

    Height - Almost 6'2'". Start date - 09/05/06
    Starting Weight - 245lbs - GOAL~ 200lbs
    First Mini Goal - 240lbs ~ acheived 09/11/06
    Second Mini Goal - 235lbs~

    hey...great for you.

    I am new and this is my second post. One thing I notice from being a lurker for three yrs is so many people try to jump into this without reading the book.

    If you're hungry....snack on allowables to take the edge off.

      if you are hungry drink some water and see if you are reaslly hungry or thirsty as the control centers are side by side and spillover is common.

      since you are in ketossi your appetite should be suppressed if it isn't check your foods for any hidden sugars or see if you are getting too much protein since this can be converted to sugar in the body too.

      If non of thosae are the reason then eat as we are allowed on Atkins to eat anytime we are hungry. make sure you are eating a high in fat meal/snack as Atkins is about using fat in the diet to prime the body to burn body fat 24/7. 65% of your cals should be in the form of fats either pure fats or mixed protein/fats foods.

        Hi,

        Thanks for your replies! I have read the book, I would definitely not get into anything like this without having some knowledge! And, I drink a LOT of water. At least 14 cups a day. I think that I'm missing enough fat and fibre. I had some flax meal on my salad today and a larger portion of meat than I normally would and that seemed to help!

          Hey there. Congrats on the weight loss. I lost 14lbs. during Induction back when I started Atkins so if you stick to it you'll continue to see the weight come off!
