  • NEWBIE from UK - says Hello

    Hello all !!

Just wanted to introduce myself - its my first post and I`m chuffed to little meat balls ( excuse the pun - its a Yorkshire saying meaning thrilled to bits) that I`ve stumbled across this website.

It could`t have come at a better time for me. (actually I`ve been lurking for a few days).

I`ve had a brief look round - and I can see there`s plenty of reading fodder to get my teeth into !!!. (oooops another pun )

I`m a short female (at 5`3") and I weigh about 250lb and would like (NO!! - AM GOING!!!! ) to get down to 135lb.

A few days ago it was all I could do to raise a smile - I felt like I had the world on my shoulders and I was alone in this battle of the bulge - having come across this site - I now feel a lot more confident and positive that I can and will do it - just like you guys.

I`m still in the middle of re-reading the book - but feel that I want to strike now while the irons hot and get started.

Like many of you (from what I`ve read so far) I have been on just about every diet known to man - the latest was the LighterLife (like the Cambridge Diet) where you have 3 food packs per day and nothing else. needless to say I lost 3 stone (42lb) in 10 weeks - but put it all back on again in the same amount of time when I came off the packs. NOT GOOD!!!!

I "dabbled" with the Atkins about 3 years ago - and had reasonable success - but to be fair - I didn`t do it proporly - so only lost about 1 stone (14lbs). Then (like a diet butterfly) I flitted onto the next diet and forgot all about Atkins.

Anyway - think I`ve rattled on enough for one post!!!

    Thanks for reading

      Welcome to our ADBB family!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

AWWWWWWW - thanks everyone - I think with the time difference it`ll be a bit odd - when I come on during my daylight hours - there`s only about 4 or 5 of you night owls geeking (I`m also a member of the nail geek website here in the uk - different user name though!!!) Not sure what you call it over in your neck of the woods but we call visiting the nail geek site - "geeking" - sorry to cause offence if "geeking" means something different to you guys.

Its my "LAST" first day today (hope that made sense) - and I`m cooking on gas and ready to go. thanks again for your words of encouragement / welcome - it means a lot to me (despite my current chipper mood - like most people I can also become very down about my weight). Will probably spend the next couple of weeks - just reading all the past threads/post.

          Love Trace x

                  Hi Trace

I find it better being 6 hours ahead of all our US friends, as when you get up it takes you hours to read all the new postings and keeps you away from the fridge!! hehe!!

I find it really inspiring reading everyones posts!

                  Good luck in your induction
