  • 2nd time around, lets get it done!

    Hi everyone,

Ok so a little about me, Im male 6ft3, and weigh around 540lbs, Im english but live in the US.

Almost 3 years ago I started to do AWOL, and in about 5 short months, I dropped over a 100lbs... easy I loved it, I missed some foods, but 99% of it was good.... then i moved to the states... and i managed to put the weight back on, I did try to carry on, but all I got was hassle from family (mother in law mostly), telling me that its not a healthy way of life, that it costs to much etc.. (we will come back to this later).

So I put weight on, my diabetes which was really controlled in the UK, (diet controlled), went crazy, with sugar readings of 350+ in the morning, and higher later on..... the doc's decided to put me on Metafomin, Actos, Lantis (over 2x80 units a day), and a 75/25 mix (3x25 units)... and that lets me have a waking sugar of over 200+, on top of that high blood pressure.... so my doc, says to me..... "You know you need to lose weight".... "DUH"..... so she gives me this diet sheet for I dont know a 5 year old , which allows me to have, as many as 1200 calories a day.... err... Im not doing this I tell her, ok in that case, let me refer you to a surgeon who does the gastric bypass.... are you crazy?!?!!?!!?!?!?!? thats my options is it, either starve myself to death, or die on the operating table?..... no, let me tell you what Im going to do, Im going to do Low Carb again, it works for me.... "But its bad for you"..... "No its not, when i do low carb my sugar is fine, i dont get the mood swings, I lose weight...whats the downside".........

Anyhow.. sorry.... I had to tell someone this... I was thinking of the gastric (not as in having it done, but as in why do people do this...) My friend at work, hes a big guy almost 6ft6 ands about 60lbs overweight... hes having it done, this is crazy to me...

Ok anyhow so the cost of doing AWOL... I was thinking, normally I eat breakfast/lunch and supper at fast food places, I work crazy hours and spend at least $30 a day on food..... my food for the past several days has been around $8 a day on AWOL, meat, eggs, cheese, some veg, water, water, water (got to have the water)....

Right now, im in the Flu stage, I love it... I know whats coming next, the rush of energy and ketosis.... hey speaking of Ketosis, in England I could go into any chemist and get Keotstix, where do I find them over here? and how much will I pay?

Oh... where can I get some scales... I found some big scales on line in Amazon for $210 that go up to around 660lbs, is that a good price?!?

What am I hoping, well Im hoping to get fit enough to run around with my son, to stop taking insulin, to be able to buy pants that dont look 'tardo....

My goal is for Xmas 2007 15months to have lost around 280lbs, which I know is duable, based on my past experience...

Well I gotta go, my eggs are almost done, and the smell is Hm Hm Hm TASTY!

Thanks for taking the time to read my crazy ramblings.....
