  • Journey of a thousand miles beigns with one step

Hi people. I am a 33year old female from East Africa. My statistics are currently 231 pounds sitting squarely on a 5'3 frame. My battle with weight goes back light years and i guess finally the endless desperation is getting to me.
This bulletinboard concept is completely new for me, on a participatory level. But when i decided to give the atkins approach another shot - begun 2nd October 2006 - i decided i better go the whole hog. Just reading the different postings gives me such a charge and sense of familiarity but most importantly a sense of hope.

    Lets keep the faith!

    All the best everyone

The one thing that has kept me on track is to remember a phrase that one member had in her signature when I joined
Failing to plan is planning to fail
So each day I used to plan my eating for the next day, so I knew what I could eat and not fall into the trap of being hungry and not knowing what was 'legal' for induction.
Another good tip I learned early on my Atkins journey was to make a copy of the list of allowed foods (or several copies) and carry it with you so you can always check that anything you are thinking of eating is on the list. Another list pinned up in the kitchen is a good idea so you can doublecheck before preparing food!
