  • Introducing Myself...

    Hi everyone!

It's great to find a supportive online community. Here's a little about me - I'm a 25 year old female, put on a lot of weight in college and am now working on taking it off. I've been on Atkins since December 10 (so my one-year anniversary is coming up). It's been great so far; I've gone from a size 20 to a 10 - I can't say how much I've actually lost, since I promised myself I wouldn't weight myself until the one year mark. I'm both kind of excited about and dreading that.

I've found a lot of great tips and inspirational postings on here already and look forward to finding more!

              Re: Introducing Myself...

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!

It's surprisingly been pretty easy to stick to the diet. My boyfriend has done it with me from the start (he wanted to lose about 30 pounds) so I'm sure that made it much easier for me. We actually started cooking together for the first time on Atkins and really enjoy it now.

I also started boxing at a local gym in March and I absolutely love it. I never liked going to regular gyms, but I like training to fight and since it's women's boxing, there's a small, close community of women fighters that are all health-conscious as well.

I'm interning in London at the moment, but when I get back to the US I'm going to pick up crew and ballroom dancing as well, so hopefully I can work some more on getting toned as well as slimming down (I just hope I don't get too burned out!)

              Thanks again for the support!

                  Re: Introducing Myself...

Congratulations on your progress so far. And how awesome that you haven't weighed for almost a year. What tremendous will power. As a scale addict, I really admire your resolve. It sounds like you are making wonderful choices -- both in terms of eating and activity -- to set yourself up for a lifetime of health. It's awesome that you've figured this out now rather than 10 or 20 years from now, like many of us... You'll be forever grateful that you did.

Looking forward to seeing you around and hearing more of your progress -- including your grand total weight loss in December!
