  • Hello Everyone!

I am a newbie to the Atkins diet. I have been reading the book... but still need to understand a lot!

I am in the process of cleaning out my cupboards of food that I can't eat.

I will start the the diet on Saturday as I have to go and shop for many food items and plan the induction diet.

I live in the UK so if anyone can give a favourite food (I don't eat pork) or item that I should have please chip in!

I know that I suffer from constipation if I don't eat fruit... so any helpful advice would be very welcome.

I have been taking multi-vitimins, evening primrose oil, flax-seed oil and biotin tablets for the last 3 months. I will continue to take them throughout the diet... unless someone can point out that they should not be taken.

I have been reading from the site for the last couple of weeks... and feel very inspired!

    Re: Hello Everyone!

Morning Deeds! Welcome to the board. You can find loads of information about all aspects of this Way of Eating on the main forum page! Many people use flax meal to help them with stomach issues. Maybe that would be helpful over the flax seed oil. Keep on reading, and re-reading the book!

Welcome aboard Deeds! Glad you found us!

Yes... I'd have flax meal rather than the oil, as it will help with constipation. Remember to drink loads and loads of water too as this also will help with that... and weight loss too!

        Happy low carbing!

Good Morning, Welcome, Glad you found us and joined. .......Just search for Constipation and you'll get tons of hints on dealing with it. Also, you need to eat 2-3 cups of veggies so make sure they are high fiber varieties.
Check out www.fitday.com, its great for plugging in your foods and keep track of your carbs.

              Hi Deeds

Welcome aboard - the main bit of advice I can give you, is to stick to the two week induction and see the results, it will then make you soo positive you won't even feel like cheating!!

Cleaning out your cupboard as you say above will help - if its not there, it can jump into your mouth! hehe!!

Good luck, I can't wait to hear how you get on
