  • I'm ready for a change

Hello everyone. I've tried Atkins a few times over the years and did not have much success. That failure, though, was my own. I never stuck with it longer than two weeks. I made it too easy for myself to cheat...and in a major way!

But no more. I've come to the point where I have no choice. I'm the heaviest I've ever been and am absolutely miserable. I commute into New York City daily and though I handle it well, it's HARD! Stairs from the subway aren't challenging per se...but I will break a sweat even on the coldest mornings.

A few weeks back, I hosted a Health & Wellness Screening event for my employees and was pretty shocked by my own personal results. My total cholesterol was below 200 (shocking!) but the bulk of that number was the bad kind. My blood pressure was high too, which is common in my family.

So, now I'm ready. The nurse that screened me told me to drop carbs all together, and avoid red meat and that I'd be in a good place pretty quickly.

That was enough for me. I pulled out DANDR for what is my fifth (and final!) go at this.

I'm looking for everyone's support here. Thank you in advance for the inspiration and motivation. I know I can be a different person in no time!

    Rosenbaj,
Welcome to ADBB. You'll get great support here. Here are my cholesterol results after being on Atkins for 6 months http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=33431

Definitely re-read DANDR and stay close to the board. Make yourself at home, especially in the Second Time Around Club http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...splay.php?f=82 I think you'll find motivation and inspiration there for sure. That group checks in with each other daily and I find them a very powerful group.
