  • 2nd Time around

    Hi all,

I have been sucessful on Atkins before with a 100 pound loss. Unfortunatley I didn't reach my goal. I always thought I would be the one NOT to gain it back. I did pretty well for awhile with a 5 pound gain then lose it right away, but then it became 10 pound gains then lose it, until finally I stopped losing it and kept on gaining it. I am now right back where I started. 300 pounds. I was so close to getting off of that 200 tick. I can give you many reasons as to what helped me gain those pounds, but what it all comes down to is it was ME that put that food into my mouth and nothing or no one else did. So here is to another chapter in my book of life.

    Re: 2nd Time around

Hello and welcome to ADBB Julie! Nice that you found us here.
You had a wonderful previous loss, so you know how well Atkins works. Glad you're back for round two... which hopefully will be the winning round, so no need for round three.

Why not take a peek at the Second Time Around Club. You're sure to find lots of support and encouragement from people who have been where you are right now.

Remember that this WOE is really a lifestyle change. I had trouble with that concept at the beginning, but as time went on, it became ever easier and eventually low carb living just became natural... not difficult at all... and now I no longer feel I'm being deprived of anything.

Look forward to seeing your posts and enthusing on your losses. You can do this!
    Before and after:

    PLEDGING FLIGHTS
Completed: 1st set of buildings and mountains (Everest,M.Blanc & Kilimanjaro, twice); Tower Masts & Chimneys; More virtual buildings; Challenger's Choice x 2 (volcanos and mountains on Mars). Currently climbing: Mount Snowdon again: 416/475

Start 10 Jan 2005. Maintenance since Aug. 2005.

Thanks for the welcome. I will check out the 2nd time forum. I want this to be the winning round as well. Plan to knock out the competitor (Fat) and come out the winner.

Hi Julie! Welcome. I'm very happy that you've decided to come back and make this the winning round in your weight loss journey. I feel the same -- this has to be a life-long committment and this is the best place to get the support and friendship to make it happen.

Welcome, Boy lots of us have been there and done that. We just have to remember that this is a lifetime committment cause some of us just can't do high carbs and none of us can do low fat. With that knowledge, it becomes easier.
So glad you found us and joined. Hope we see lots of you.

I'm glad I'm going for the support again too. Thanks for the tip about the alternatives. I will be sure to check that out. I know the first 3 days are the hardest. I'm such a sugarholic. That is one thing I'm going to really really try to avoid this time around. No sugar free candy bars. At least not until I'm ready for maintanence. Becky love the before and after pictures. I'm going to take weekly pictures and measurements too. For some reason even after losing 100 pounds I had the image of FAT JULIE. I think next time I'm just going to keep putting on my fattest pants to remind me just how far I have come. Thanks guys for your encouragement and support. I will also be posting my daily menues too.

PS: How do you get your tickers to show up? I tried both ways pasting the picture itself or pasting the html in. It doesn't show up but the web address. Guess I'm still learning!
