  • To be or not to be...

I officially started the induction phase on the 12th. I went over in net carbs by ten on the second or third day and again by six last night due to my second serving of that "devil ice cream" (induction recipe). My carbs were induction safe but it was still over. Anyway, I used to be a vegetarian...then I went to a vegan ( which I didn't pay attention to my nutrition) and got pretty sick. Went back to vegetarian for a few years...then I ate fish...so good so I decided to try chicken and I loved it! I forgot what meat was like. Now I am attempting to add other meats into my diet. My boyfriend offered me a piece of steak and I got scared and said no. But lately I have found myself becoming more adventurous. Believe me when I first decided to try this I had my doubts! Especially after eating a low fat reduced calorie diet most of my life. I was afaid I was going to get fat eating all that wonderful so called "sinfully bad" food! Much to my surprise I lost weight the first three days! My midsection is also leaner and tighter..already!!! I am trying not to jump on the scale so soon though...do hope to see more results in the rest of my 7 (or a little more, depending on how I feel) days on induction. So from a vegetarian...to a hardcore vegan..to a low calorie dieter....back to a meat eater....this is my story. I just want to thank everyone for being SUCH a BIG help! This is an amazing group of supportive people and I am looking forward to being a member for life with everyone here!

Sherice--glad you're seeing results! Great progress...oooh and stay away from that ice cream. I haven't even tried to make it yet...but perhaps, someday?

There are lots of protein options out there if you're skittish about red meat--my favorite meat is chicken! Also don't forget about shrimp, scallops, salmon, halibut, turkey, eggs, etc. Protein is protein, it doesn't have to be red--just make sure you eat enough fat with your protein and you'll be A-OK!

Wow, sounds like you're off to a great start!

I'm a vegetarian. Doing this with no meats is hard...

But I think you'll have no problem.

              Good luck!

Some progress is a great thing! You're basically losing a pound a day, I think that's perfect!
