  • Going to try again...Round 2

Hello all...My name is Stacy and I am here to try again...which will be tomorrow...I recently lost 20 pounds using Atkins but I got tired of eating the same things and ended up quiting. I know a big NO NO....but I have decided to try once again and hopefully by summer I will reach my goal. So I just wanted to stop by say Hi. Have a great day everyone.

I will second that! This is my second time on Atkins, and I can't believe the things I've been eating that I didn't even know about the first time around. the recipes in here are GREAT! Glad you're here, and we look forward to supporting you on this journey!

Yeah, I guess you could say I got in a rut....to say the least...but hopefully I will find some good easy ideas on here...I hate to cook...and I also work 12 hour swing shift so it makes it difficult sometimes to be on an eating schedule...but I will give it 110% this time around and see what happens.....

          Hi Stacy

One of the things I love the most about this WOE is the food - check out the food and cooking chat and the recipe section, there are plenty of easy recipes to try and 1 pot recipes that last you for a couple of days!

Good luck, and remember to check in with us

Hi Stacyj, welcome to the boards! Why did you "quit", did you bump yourself up the food rung properly, or got bored with staying in induction? When you do this properly and start bumping yourself up the rungs, it allows many more food choices so that you don't get bored with the food!

Yes Sillygirl I did get bored with the induction phase...I was on it for over a month...and I lost 20 lbs...and I have held steady since I got off it but I need to get motivated and get back on this before summer rolls around...and you know it will be here before you know it...

Well, this time you will do it all properly! Of course induction is boring over the long run! The point is to get into good eating habits, and eat from every food group in a healthy, low carb way! By summer, you will be buying yourself a new little 2-piece bathing suit!

Welcome back. Many people get stuck on the same foods - which causes boredom with the program. The secret to succeeding is to utilize the recipes, the substitutions for your favorite meals. Using different spices also helps to make your meals more enjoyable. If in doubt about different foods and new ways to cook them, just ask. Everyone here is very creative and can give you great ideas.

I second what Sillygirl says... if you climb the rungs you'll find there's far less chance of getting bored. Check out the recipes here... there are some great ones.
Here's a link to a great recipe site: http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html any recipe with an asterisk is good for induction.
