  • Second Time around

    Well, it's my second time around the atkins diet, the first time worked very well for me, but my body couldn't handle eating only that type of food and I got sick. Hopefully that won't happen again. My starting weight is 191 and I'm 5 feet 11 inches tall, 16 year old male. I want to be down to around 150 lbs. Any and all advice, suggestions, and encouragement is graciously appreciated.

    I start day 1 of induction tomorrow.

      Hello! Welcome to the board. You'll find lots of encouragment here. We're all working together to get healthy, lose weight and make our goals come true. I'm glad you had a good experience before on Atkins - so you already know the benefits and that it works. Check out the recipe section - as well as the substitute ways to make your favorite meals. You don't have to feel deprived or that you are giving up anything...just altering the way you eat to fit your new lifestyle. Have you read the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution? Reading in Dr. Atkins' own words how the program works and the correct way to do it will be a great help.

      I found that making a plan to incorporate the WOE into my own lifestyle was essential. We all have different schedules for working out and cooking. Plan to suceed! Congratulations for making the committement to do it. We are all here to help.

        Hi there and welcome to the ADBB!
        You've done Atkins before so you know it works. I hope you don't fall sick again, but if you see signs then post here and let us know what's happening. It might be just a little thing in your diet that needs tweaking... a sensitivity to a certain food, or something.
        Why not take a peek into the Second Time Around forum. Lots of folk there who've come, gone and come back, so can give you advice.
        Remember to drink masses and exercise as much as you can.

          Wow!! In 3 short days of no cheating and some exercise, I've already lost 6 lbs. I couldn't believe it when i stepped on the scale.
