HI,
I am 46 yo female. About 5' 8" tall. I have been exercising for over a year at the Y and do cardio and weights.
I have been dieting for over 2 years. I started at 194.4 and lost most of my weight doing Weight Watchers, but never could reach my goal of 140 which I have been trying to get to that elusive number for over a year.
I finally upped my goal to 150 on WW so I could go to the group meetings without having to pay. I have heard most of the meetings and they really are not motivating to me any more but I like the groups support and that is a help. I do have complaints about WW that they allow all the junk food and even doing the Core plan they give you all these tricks to add junk into the diet so you are constantly hungry all the time, but I keep my mouth shut in the meetings so not to rock the boat.
Anyway. Last summer I did south beach induction and got my home scales to 140.8 or something and once I started adding in grains and fruits the scales went up and then I went on vacation and ate like a pig. I never let myself gain too much and I was always under 150 but I sure felt fat and it is all in my stomach becaseu I have a apple figure.
A month or so ago I decided to try atkins but was just counting carbs and did not read the book but then I started reading this board and everyone suggested the book so I got it. I stopped using the sweetener packets (I was using from 24-40 a day) and stopped eating nuts and and stopped the whipped cream and after a week or so I did start to loose a little.
Today my scales are 142.6 and that is higher than yesterday but I am trying to be positive and figure it may be the ham I had for breakfast yesterday. it said zero carb grams, but since finding out that the sweetener packets are actually 1 carb each I don't trust the labels completely.
I think I may be one that can really never have many carbs from being overweight for so many years.
Thanks for allowing me to join the forum.
Cindy

has been so helpful for me. I still have a LONG way to go before I reach my ultimate goal but with the help of this board, I can do it one day at a time.

Best of luck, and don't be afraid to reach out for support- you will find tons of it here always no matter what!
