  • New Here and thinking about a challenge....

I am new here and considering starting a challenge......for Memorial Day.

I am a 53 year young woman, 5'5" tall (medium build) with 216 lb. on my big butt!!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SICK of being FAT FOR THE SUMMER!!
So, I was considering a challenge for Memorial day. I want to be 150 by then...I dont think that would be to unrealistic...do you??? I dont know if I should start it now or wait until Jan.1........I guess it all depends on how many others might be interested...so feedback on any interest would be greatly appreciated.

I am not new to low carb...just this board. Last summer I dropped 36 lb. before cold weather set in and now I am in "hibernation" mode again. I have gained all by 10 lb. back so far and I am not happy...yet I cant seem to stop...out of control Serious..............

Looking to hear from lots of you......I hope.

    Vicki

Re: New Here and thinking about a challenge....

        Oh........crap.....good morning!!!!

Well, today is the first day of my Memorial Day Challenge....I decided not to wait....Why you might ask....well..........yesterday was an awakening......

Lets see, I ate so many Christmas cookies while at work that I was in a sugar ozone ALL DAY. Then I went home and of course felt to bad to cook...so, I ordered a Pizza (sausage & pepperoni) and while watching "THE BIGGEST LOSER" the dog and I (yah, right) ate the WHOLE PIZZA!!! I got so ill, my heart was racing and I was light headed and I had to confront myself about what I was doing to myself....I prayed to just make it through the night and the STUPID WOULD STOP....well, it has now stopped!!!

I will post on the Challenge Board and if anyone is interested....stop on over...if not, I guess I will just "do it alone" but I will do it....I have got to...Either that or curl up and die and I am not ready for that.

        See ya,

        Vicki

Hi Vicki - I have a goal of being down to 20% body fat by the time my daughter arrives back from China. (July 7, 2007) I have about 50 pounds to go to reach that number so at 6 - 7 pounds per month fat loss (and some muscle gain) I can do it. So, I'll join your challenge!!! Shall we report every week or ??? We can also do a no-cheat challenge as well! Let me know. I'm in!

Re: New Here and thinking about a challenge....

Vicki - Welcome here, and good luck on your challenge. I'd like to point out 2 things that may help you to "keep the faith".

            1. While you may/may not make 150 by Memorial day, by going (and staying) on this WOE (way of eating), you will at least be closer to it, plus you should notice improvements in other areas besides your weight. If you've dieted before, the weight often is harder to lose the next time. (I had a 2/2006 goal for Memorial day weekend that I only got to about a month ago). Weight related problems such as aches, fatigue and emotions improve as you lose and exercise.

            2. Why wait til 1/07 - that is asking for additional weight to be added before you get started! How much of last summer's 36 pound loss was gained during December last year?

            2 Ab Chal's; 6WEC#27 slug-Free; & more; 50# LOST in'06-
but regained ~20# in '07 in less than 3 weeks! And again early '08 ...Was in HEAVEN -got to 150, for awhile, then got too busy, and gave in too much... and... OK holding pattern "keep it together..."

.................OMG how did I fail AGAIN
            (((on temporary break)))
Sigh ... I'll be back... life isn't always fair 10-07-09

Come on over......I posted the challenge on the challenge board. I figure you can check in when ever you want...daily if it is necessary for you. I will weigh in at least once a week....but, I might make it daily for me until I get a good hold on eating this way again....just to keep an eye on me......
