  • So depressing to be doing this again...

I'm introducing myself here, but will be joining the Second time around club. I was very sucessful first time on atkins, losing just about 40lbs in 2 months. Fell off and I'm closing back in on my original starting weight. Just back for support since I CAN'T STAND feeling like this anymore! I'm nervous because of the awful side effects I had last time. (I lost over half of my hair) I don't want that to happen again. But I almost would rather be bald than fat anymore. Any help would be wonderful! Thank you all and I hope I can help others here as well with my experience.

Congratulations on the first time losing weight. I think instead of dieting, you have to make this a life change or you could alwayes be going up and down. I am not a pro at this so i could be wrong, but that is what i believe. Anyway you will lose it again I just know it. Good Luck and God Bless!

Congrats and glad you found this place! Its a great place to be for support. I would encourage you to start a journal - its a great place to get your feelings out and talk through the "stuff" of Atkins. A great way to get to know people better too! Good luck, and look forward to hearing more about your journey!

Welcome back!! Were you eating all your veggies/taking all your vitamins last time?? That's so weird about the hair, but I think my mom said she had lost hers when she did an old version of Atkins in the 70s, so make sure you have the correct (2002 DANDR)!!

What are we planning on doing for exercise?? There are lots of challenges going on you can join up with!

Re the hair loss... here's a link that looks at that:

                    http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/newslet...-no06-pg7.html

Also, if you do a board search for "hair loss and diet" you'll find several threads that talk about this very subject. Hope this helps.

Hiya Cass! Glad you're here...yep I'm a Second Timer, too, but like Adena said, I'm HAPPY I'm back! The first time, I didn't do it right, and it's no wonder I fell off the wagon...so now it's important that I do it by the book so that I can make it my life, not just a diet or quick fix.

Don't be a stranger, and welcome back to Atkins!
