  • I'm at it again

    I did atkins very strict starting when I was 19, for about a year. I worked out 7 days a week at least 3 hours a day, and was steady at around 215 and felt great. Then a girlfriend that can cook & a "desk" job that I didn't have time to work out, and 3 years later: Alot of weight put on.

    I have since quit my desk job, took a big paycut, but would rather be happy like I use to be

    This is me (I know I don't look 215, but I was), Cheers for a new jumpstart.

    Welcome to ADBB Poohbear. This is my second time around, and one thing I've found is that this bulletin board is my support network. When I stay connected, I feel inspired, motivated, lifted up, STRONG. I hope that you find that here as well.

    Check out the Forum called Second Time Around Club for those members doing this the 2nd, 3rd, 4th...time around. They check in with each other daily and really have a synergy going that is contagious.

      Hi Poobear! Welcome to the board and back to Atkins! Sounds like you know the drill. Read around the board and in the induction forum to get your bearings. Keep us posted as to your losses!

              Welcome back to Atkins Poohbear! I'm a second time arounder too. ADBB has lots of support and encouragement that I look for daily. Here's to your jumpstart!

              By the way, the house in your picture looks interesting. I've been to a place like that.

                  I didn't start until the 26th, but tomorrow's the 1 week mark... trying to decide whether i should weigh myself or not...

                  I think one of the reasons I was so successful before was because I did the diet for 4 months before I stepped on a scale.

                  Maybe I should get rid of the scale.. or maybe it'll be motivation?

                    I am addicted to the scale. It's horrible. I know the best thing is to go by inches and the way you feel, but i am an addict. I can't help it. HAHA

                      I hear you there.

                      Like I said when I did it before, I didn't weigh myself for 4 months, then I started weighing myself, and I would eat less & less, and exercise harder, and get no progress, thats how my gaining originally started.

                        Pooh, if the scale effects you that much, I'd stay away from it and stick to measuring your progress by clothing, PICTURES and the tape measure. OR by body fat percentage.
