I have been following this board for about year now, and have a friend who lost a significant amount of weight on the atkins diet. I went on atkins at almost 100 lbs overweight about a year ago and lost 40 lbs, I am currently at 240, having gained it all back in about 7 months. I REALLY want to get this weight off. I am used to being slender and athletic, but marriage and cooking for a family has taken its toll. I am desperate, and need all the support I can get. I quit the last time because of a vacation, and a decision to take a break for two days, which turned into two weeks ect..ect...I am sure many know how that story goes. Well, I dont want that to happen again. I want to get my self- esteem back more than anything. I have become sort of a recluse since gaining this weight.
I have heard the "pros and cons" of this diet from friends and family, but I have seen it really work, and know that carrying around 100 extra pounds is NOT healthy. Please help give me a boost in the right direction.
