Hi! My name is Jen. After packing on 50 lbs. in three month thanks to severe hormonal imbalances (mainly to do with an extremely low thyroid function), I am beginning the journey back to normalcy. I've already lost about 15 lbs. but I want to be more proactive. My whole family has had success with the Atkins diet so I am giving it a whirl. I am almost done with induction and i've lost about 4 lbs. I am currently 161 lbs. and looking to get back down to 125. Any support and/or encouragement will be greatly apprieciated!

Re: I Want My Body Back!
Welcome, Jennifer. And congratulations with 4 pounds lost and making it through induction -- that's the tough part. The rest is a a piece of cake. Okay, well... not really.
But, you've come to the right place to help ensure you're successful. The fact that your family has had success with Atkins means you have a ready-made support network. That's great!
Will you be moving up the rungs into OWL? I highly recommend it. I stayed on induction for a while, thinking I'd do better -- less food and less carbs = more weight loss, right? Wrong. I actually started losing more as I moved up the OWL rungs. So, don't be afriad to do it once induction is over.
I encourage you to visit here often. It really helps folks stay on track. Consider joining an exercise challenge (new ones for Jan. will be posted very soon, if not already). And maybe even consider starting a journal (see Journal Chats forum). I also suggest you not let your eating get into a rut. There are LOTS of great things you can eat on Atkins. If you haven't already, check out Linda's low carb recipe site (http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html). It's like the recipe bible around here.
Good luck to you, and keep us posted on your progress!

Re: I Want My Body Back!
Welcome! I had to laugh at your thread title--I don't want any part of my body back that I have worked so hard to lose over the last year (114 pounds). I'm thinking of moving and not leaving a forwarding address so it can never find me again!
Sunny!
