    hi! new kid on the block



    well im around 100lbs overweight, highblood pressure, and i just found out im diabetic.my blood sugar was 300something im not sure how bad that is but, they put me on medformin, its typell.i need all thesupport and prayers i can get. im 47 married with 2 grown daughters and 6 foster sons ranging from 3-17. tammy10

    Welcome Tammy10! Sorry to hear you just found out about your diabetes. But... the good news is that Atkins will only have a beneficial effect on that.
    If you follow the plan the way it is intended to be followed you'll be a big loser for sure.
    Take a stroll around the board and see everything that's going on: journal, exercise challenges, recipes, chit chat, health chat....

      Hi Tammy! Check out the diabetic forum. This is, for sure, the way for you to eat to be healthy and lose weight in the process! Good luck to you!

        Tammy - I also have diabetes and after 3 weeks of this diet i was taken of my meds. 300 is pretty high! Stick with it and you will not only lose weight but have control of your sugars with ease. Remember keep your eye on the prize and you will succeed!
