  • Re-starting Atkins

    Hi everyone
I just joined this group and wanted to say hi. Three years ago I did Atkins, and at that time I had lost 60 pounds on it. Evenutally after listening to too many naysayers, I started to go back to my old ways of eating. So here I am today, with the 60 lbs back on, feeling miserable. I don't sleep well, I have no energy, and Im bloated and miserable. So back to Atkins I go, starting day 1 tommorow and not listening to anyone that has negativity. Isn't it funny, how once you gain the weight back, you aren't lectured anymore about the evils of low carbing lol. But I am doing waaaaaaaaaay more damage being this overweight, I am sure some of you know what I mean. Anyways, Im Sherri, Im 37 and a single mom in Nova Scotia, Canada.

so here I am, back to atkins!

    Hi everyone!

      Re: Re-starting Atkins

Hi Sherri. Glad to have you join us. The thing that has helped me overcoming the negative minded people is being a part of this group. There are no naysayers, you'll be surrounded by people who encourage you to make your goal and get healthy. Anytime someone changes their routine, they are met with others who say it can't or shouldn't be done. You've experienced the positive side of losing the weight and know the feeling of pride and satisfaction in yourself ~ so that will help you in making your plan to succeed.

You're not alone. Everyone here understands and wants to help each other make it happen. Welcome, I look forward to sharing your success!

Hi SherriGirl and welcome! So glad you've decided to re-commit to Atkins! I'm positive that soon you'll be feeling fitter, leaner and happier!
Have a glance at the Second Time Around Club (STAC). Everyone there has drifted away and then come back...to better health and a slimmer figure. Lots of support and inspiration to be had there.

                Re: Re-starting Atkins

I hate naysayers. I love this board. This board has made me able to deal with the naysayers. When I told my cousin (best friend) I was back on Atkins she said she was worried about me and that I needed to have more carbs or I was going to die! She tried it once but during induction she got diarreah and freaked out and quit. I told her to stick with it but she refused. Anyway, she is a smart cookie and knows a lot about nutrition, but she doesn't know jack about Atkins and I told her so! She backed off and is supportive of me now, if not skeptical. But man oh man, tell someone you are on Atkins and the eyes start rolling. It doesn't matter how many positive facts you can give about this WOL. People believe what they want. Thank you guys for being here. We need eachother.

I feel exactly the same way. That's why I am climbing back on the "Atkins Wagon". This is Day 3 for me and so far, so good
