  • Bring it on!

Hi my names Kelly and I just started my induction yesterday. I hope to be here multiple times a day because without the support, i'm terrified i'd fail! I also have the support of my fiance, Steve. I, too, am a bride-to-be and even though I already bought my dress, i hope to have it altered or exchanged for a much smaller size. It's not a size 14, but my goal is to be about a size 8. I'm 5'9 and 208 pounds today...since I'm tall i'm lucky...but I still am carrying a lot of extra weight that isn't healthy. I like to say love made me fat . We go out to eat allll the time, and my favorite guilty pleasure are mudslides! Bye bye! I also was taking anti-anxiety pills for 9 months...i gained the weight during that period. I've been off of them for a good 6 months now, so I hope I can shed the pounds. My goal weight is 145...but I'll be happy if for my wedding next year i can be down to 160. I'm sure I can do it....look at the amazingly supportive forum i belong too! thanks already!

    Re: Bring it on!

Kelly, you absolutely can do it! I'm glad you've got support from Steve. Go through you kitchen and give everything not atkins friendly to a food bank...or your enemies. I call it toxic food. ha!

Anyway, get it OUT of your house...out of sight out of mind...to a certain extent. Take the EXCUSES out of your way. My husband eats what I eat at home and eats whatever he wants when he's not with me. He's lost weight as well.

You CAN do this. Take your measurements and take pictures for comparison down the road. What are you going to do for the mandatory part of the exercise?

      Re: Bring it on!

steve and i both belong to the same gym...its only $20 a month! So we try to go as much as we can. I'm starting school again this month...and with my full-time job...i KNOW it'll be a challange to get the right amount of excersize in. what do you think is the minimum amount i SHOULD be doing? I want this weight to be gone so bad. I think once i start seeing ANY weight drop, i'll be more prone to be at the gym everyday!

        Re: Bring it on!

        Hi Kelly

Follow Joys advice - and clear those cupboards out!! I did the same after all my relatives had left on Christmas Day - I just got a huge binbag and threw away all the naughty carbs!! I felt terrible wasting so much food - buy I knew full well if it stayed in my fridge, it would end up on my hips!!! lol

Why dont you join one of the exercise challenges? they're great for meeting new people, and really help to keep you on track!! I've noticed a huge improvement in my weightloss and shape since I started to do them!!

Good luck and I hope to see less of you soon!!

Hi Kelly! Welcome to the board. You might want to set up a journal for yourself over at

              http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...splay.php?f=31

I love that you plan to visit the board multiple times a day, so rather than starting new threads if you have the journal you will meet lots of friendly people with great support and advice at your own little pad! The journals are a fun place to hang out!

                Re: Bring it on!

Happy New Year, Ke15i! Happy to have you aboard! Have you gotten rid of what you WON'T need (temptations, for instance)? Got what you WILL need (DANDR 2002 & induction-legal foods)?

Have you taken your starting weight and measurements, perhaps a photo, so you can really measure progress you make?
Have you been reading up on the "sticky" posts in the forum lists?

Got any questions? We're happy to help! Welcome!
