I decided to re-start the Atkins diet as a way to help me with my New Years Resolution. Althought I know it's very cliche to do so, I still like the feeling of a fresh start. I figured starting a new year was a good enough reason to start the Atkins diet fresh. I did extremely well when I tried the diet in September. After Induction, I fell off the bandwagon and returned to my old eating habits. I'm not a particularly heavy person. During my first go at Atkins, I lost a little over 10 lbs. during induction. This brought my weight to an astonishing 110 lbs. However, in the past few months I've put on about 17 lbs. Many people don't even notice. My boyfriend could hardly believe it when I told him my starting weight this morning. Yes, it is true. I've put on weight since September. It's very discouraging to look back at photos or even try to squeeze into things I could wear just four months ago. Gaining that much weight in such a short amount of time is shocking to anyone no matter how much they weight. So, here I am again to start this long journey and to hopefully stick with it this time. Please wish me luck!

Re: Taking Another Stab At This!
It's amazing if you don't pay attention how much you gain. My son will be 3 in a week and since i had him i gained like 60 Lbs OH MY! I didn't even see it coming on. Don't worry as long as you keep your eye on the prize you will succeed. Good luck and ask questions.

Re: Taking Another Stab At This!
Happy New Year, Kollege! Happy to have you aboard! Have you gotten rid of what you WON'T need (temptations, for instance)? Got what you WILL need (DANDR 2002 & induction-legal foods)?
Have you taken your starting weight and measurements, perhaps a photo, so you can really measure progress you make?
Have you been reading up on the "sticky" posts in the forum lists?
Got any questions? We're happy to help! Welcome!
By th way, it only gets easier to put on the pounds the more times you go to eating the way that started to put them on. It gets harder to remove them, when you hop back on the wagon, too. Wishing you success!
