    Hi!

I'm new to this board also. Been fighting the battle of the bulge for years and I'm ready to stop. I'm going to try Atkins again. My sister did really well on it over the last 18 months and she looks great. She's not even a dieter!! Can't hurt to try. I'm at my heaviest weight ever. 270! There I said it. I would appreciate any input you have for the induction phase.

Welcome! My best advice is to read the 2002 edition of book. In the meantime you can check out the "stickies" in the forums. They have TONS of great info!

Thanks! I struggled today trying to find the right things to eat but didn't give in at all. I've read the book and am reading it again right now. I'm going to try and read the thread and post comments to keep me inspired.

You sound like me. LOL It took losing 24 Lbs for me to finally tell someone how much i weighed. It is really hard to say when you are so heavy. I started on halloween 06 at 296 Lbs. Keep it up you will succeed.

Chubby! Good for you on not giving in! You'll see, it will get easier and easier and pretty soon you won't even want to veer from the eating!

                    Re: Trying again

Welcome to ADBB. You will find this board is great support. I suggest reading the book, DANDR, joining the boot camp on this board, starting a journal (Misc forum) and even joining a challenge. I personally find that keeping track of what I eat in a journal, also on fitday (www.fitday.com) helps me ALOT, in addition to the great supportive people you will find around here.

I still have alot of weight to lose myself, but I haven't felt better about myself in a long long time.

Good luck to you and have a great day.

                      Re: Trying again

Thanks. I have read the book a couple of times and am reading it again since I just got started yesterday. Struggled through the day but made it through day 1. Yeah!! Day 2 is off to a good start. Had a couple slices of turkey sausage chopped and mixed with 2 eggs and a half a can of mushrooms all scrambled together. Drank 24 oz of water already. Does this sound good to you all?

It sounds right-on, but why the turkey sausage? Go for the real thing, it's higher fat and fat's what keeps you feeling full!

                          Hi Chubbynomore. Welcome!
Good for you for keeping to plan on Day 1. You'll find it gets easier and easier as the days go by, especially after induction flu passes (if you get a bout of it, that is).
Remember to drink masses of water and try to do some exercise...both absolute necessities to this WOE.
Let us know how you do!
