  • Looking Forward to Using This Board!!!

    Hello All,
I've watched my father lose 220 lbs on the Atkins diet but refused to admit that maybe it could have helped me! So I fumbled around and tried random fad diets and then eventually would just go back to my old habits of cramming face full of junk. I blamed it on being pregnant, blamed it on nursing but eventually with a two year old and a five year old - those excuses really weren't working anymore. Finally, on July 15th of 2006 I did the induction and was absolutely amazed at how the weight just melted off! So now - I realize that the Atkins diet is a choice that I shall embrace for the rest of my life as a way of eating quality, healthy, and enjoyable foods while keeping my weight in check.

I just found this board and look forward to a network of support.

I have to find some good before and after pictures to put in my signature!

    Cheers!

Wow! Thanks for the warm welcome Ya'all

I found this board via youtube. I typed in Atkins on there and up popped Kent's weight loss movie. I thought it was quite inspiring and he mentions the ADBB in it so I came over here to check out the place.

I suppose I might as well confess now that I am not perfect. Hahahaha! I've fallen off the wagon a few times (first it was thinking that I could eat an Atkins peanut butter chocolate bar every day, then it was an addiction to peanut butter for a while that I absolutely had to kick because I was eating too much of it and I plateaued). However, I know what I have to do and I love working out to help kick it into high gear.

Looking forward to a yummy dinner tonight. It's in the oven right now as I type. A delightful eggplant concoction my mother and I cook together. We sliced the eggplant thin, soaked it in salt water, rinsed it and then grilled it with olive oil. Then we layered it with mozzarella cheese and our homemade sausage spaghetti sauce. It's almost ready...mmmm...gotta go eat dinner!

Ooh your dinner sounds fabulous! There are quite a few of us who have problems with those doggone peanuts and peanut butter--myself included. Just put them away until you get to maintenance...that's what I'm doing.
