    hi my name is astrid!
    from rainy england!
    today is second day on atkins and i feel good!
    i have done this diet before the first time was almost 4 years ago i was working at a pizza restaurant at the time and lasted 3 days had really bad carb cravings!
    the second time i tried it i was on it for a month i felt good i'd lost over 10lbs and my skin glowed.
    i tried briefly last year and had the most almighty sugar cravings and i gave in.
    since then the weight has been steadly going on and it needs to go!
    i joined this site for support if i can read and learn of other peoples experiance it may help me!


    any tips would be great too!

    Hi Astrid. Welcome... So happy to have you join us!

    After you do a clean 2-week induction, it will be easier for you to resist the sugar and other foods. During that time, make a point of doing something when you get those cravings such as brushing your teeth, drinking water, going for a walk, writing down how you feel...anything but giving in and jeopardizing your efforts. You can do it and it is sooo worth the effort when you gain control over your food and it no longer controls you.

        Welcome Astrid from rainy England!
        Glad you decided to get back into eating the Atkins way. Soon, you'll be feeling fitter, trimmer and more energised.
        One tip is to always have a legal snack (preferably high fat) on hand, so you can ward off the cravings if they hit. You can do this! It's just a question of getting into the right mindset and we're all here to help you there. This board is a wonderful place for boosting motivation and getting good advice.
