  • tired of making excuses

    Hi everyone,
I am new to Atkins and i am determined to make my story a success. I am going on 40, my child bearing days are over(5 of my own kids and 3 step children), and there is no reason that I should not be taking my health and weight seriously. I am tired of being heavy. I am at my heaviest right now. I cannot allow it to go further so here I am. I don't even tell my fiancee how much I weigh so this is new for me to admit it. So here it is and here is my goals.

    Height 5'3"
    Weight 185
    Goal 130

So there it is, out in plain site!

    Thanks for listening,
    Karen

    Re: tired of making excuses

Karen... hello there and welcome to ADBB! Very glad you've decided to do Atkins along wiht us. You've taken a very wise decision to begin this journey to a slimmer figure and better health by low carbing.
You're so right... there comes a time when we moms must think of ourselves a little.
Have a look around and see all that's going on here: Journals, recipes, low carb advice, exercise challenges....
On the subject of challenges, you might like the new board wide "No Scale" challenge, where you weigh yourself, then hide the scale away for a couple of weeks. Great to ward of that scale dependence that can happen so easily. If you're interested the link is:

Keep posting and let us know how you're getting on!

Karen...welcome. I agree with the others...congratulations on making the committment to take care of yourself. That is what it took for me to get serious and actually make the changes that improved my health and weight. I wish you the best of luck in your journey.
