  • New member introduction.

    Hello everyone
I am Judy MacCaellich, a Scotswoman, living in France. Halfway up a mountain in the Morvan National Park to be precise.

I love my 'new' life here, but found that I piled on the pounds whilst on a low fat diet prescribed when I had an ulcer (stress induced). The ulcer has now miraculously disappeared, encouraged by the rural French lifestyle

I am following the guidelines from the 2002 Atkins Revolution. I did induction just before Christmas, then fell off the rails during the festivities. I have just started induction again and everything seems to be going well so far.

I have set myself an excercise goal of 100 miles walked between Jan and 1st April , as I think that's realistic for me, and am lifting weights 3 days a week, and doing a yoga class weekly.

I love cooking, and collect recipes where ever I go, only the good ones of course! I look forward to sharing the Atkins friendly ones with you and hope you will enjoy them as much as I do!

It's lovely to meet you all

    Judy

Hi Judymac! Welcome to the board. You sound very prepared for this terrific journey. I'm really happy to hear you've read the book! That's a really important tool for eating this way, so you understand the science behind it all. Oh, and loving to cook helps too! Have you read the recipe section?

                Hello there Judy! Welcome!

So... you're a Scot living in France. Way cool! I'm a Scot living in Italy! Don't you find Atkins on the continent not as hard as one might suppose? Here in Italy, once one gets past the "pasta" fixation, it's quite easy with all the wonderful fresh foodstuffs we get here. I imagine it's similar where you are.

Glad to have you here on the board with us. Do feel free to ask any questions you might have.

I wish you all the very best on your Atkins journey to better health and a trimmer figure!
