Hi,
what a wonderful site this is! I have lurked for a long time....and been inspired and amazed by the support and success of so many people. I am not new to Atkins, but have finally decided to do it right this time. For me, it is all about mindset and being ready and committed to quit whining and just get to it.
I have read DANDR many times, but just wasn't quite willling to make the real changes. Throughout the past year, I have decided not to diet, but rather to make this my WOE (yes, I have to think it to death before I can commit!). So here I am, in my third week of induction and very HAPPY! Yes, I have lost some lbs, but also I feel the best I have felt in a long while!! Honestly, I thought I would drop weight like a brick, but didn't really do that. But I am in this for the long haul, and after reading so many of your inspiring stories, I know it will happen in all good time.
I do not feel "deprived" of food or choices and do not lust for the junk I was eating before. Seeing this as a positive choice rather than a "sacrifice" makes ALL the difference! I am going to do a fourth and final week of induction just to get off to a good start, and then move to OWL. Finally have the energy to exercise and am doing weight training dvds. I've had weight issues as long as I can remember---had to buy the "chubby" girl scout uniform as a kid...and can't wait to throw my "big girl" clothing catalogs in the recycle bin!
Thank you great folks for the example you have set to help us beginners see that this WORKS---now and for a lifetime!!!
