    Hi all,

    I found this forum in November while looking for low carb jerky recipes for christmas presents for my family. I knew I was going to start the atkins diet so I joined. I finally finished nursing my daughter three weeks ago so I didnt start the diet until last week. So far I have lost 7 pounds but then again Im in the induction period but I do hope to continue to lose the weight fast I think I have had problems in the past with diets because Im the type that likes to see immediate results. I know even this diet will take a bit to lose all the weight I want to lose since I need to shed about 100 pounds, but atleast you can see the results faster then any other diet. My whole family has been on this diet since august of 2005, and my brother has already lost 75 pounds and he is looking good lol. I have three kids under the age of 4. That is the main reason I want to lose the weight so I will be able to have the energy to play with them and help them when they start sports. Im just glad I found this forum there are so many inspirations on here I know I am going to be able to lose the weight. Plus the exercise challenges are going to be fun since I am not a self motivator. I have been doing the richard simmons sweating to the oldies every other day for the past 2 weeks now and I still find it a tad bit hard since I am so out of shape. I can't wait to get my life back together and I look forward to meeting everyone here. Stacey aka lantanapooh

    Hi Lantanapooh, welcome to the board and to Atkins. 7 pounds in a week is really good. You will lose lots of weight! Please don't be concerned with the speed at which you will lose. It's a process. A process that will help you rid your body of carbs and begin to eat in a healthful way for the rest of your life. You will start to learn so much about the science behind this, and why it works and will look forward to eating this way. Come around the board often!

        Welcome Lantanapooh! Glad you decided to do Atkins along with us!

        Try to think direction rather than speed. When you're at or near goal, the losing phase will seem as though it passed in a flash!

            Welcome Stacey!

            There truly is no miracle fast diet. Only a real life change Take your measurements and judge alot of your loss on that and not only on the lbs lost each week.

            I've been going strong now for 4 weeks on this new wol and have found that it really does teach us what we're doing and how we eat. Learn from it as ya go cause it has to be a complete life change for the future
