I am totally new to Atkins. I have all my life had the tendency to be fat. I call it "having the fat gene". I have in years gone by, dieted many times and had been able to stay fairly fit. The past five or six years I pretty much gave up and let myself go. I made it up to 242# and no energy and have been having a hard time getting around with a huge gut. I set out on my typical low-fat low calorie diet. I lost 22# in two months and then hit a wall. I also became quite ill feeling from lack of red meat. I then picked up the Atkins book and started reading. I am 1 week 1 day into induction and have lost 9#. I had a rough first week but seem to be feeling better yesterday and today. I love all the really bad things to ingest including beer, candy, coffee, and have never met a chip I didn't like. I can't wait to work my way into being able to snak down a handfull of nuts. I am by the way 52 and my goal is between 170 and 180 I am at 211 today. Wish me luck [ I have detemination]..........Bob

Re: Hi I'm Bob
It seems you have your mind made up which is the first step. I to bob have been overweight all my life and tried so many "diets". It wasn't until i started this "way of life" That i finally saw the weight coming off and feeling oh so much healthier. You can do it I know you can. Good Luck and if you need anything just ask.
