  • Hi, newbie here!

I'm on day seven of induction, or is it eight, and going strong. I feel thinner. My clothes are feeling a little loose and my energy is up.

I'm keeping a food journal. I have quite a bit of fat to remove and this is the year I'm going to do it. I chose Atkins because I like the low carb lifestyle. I also chose it because I'm tired of starving myself all week for next to no weight loss. Don't get me wrong I don't expect overnight miracles, I'd be very happy with two pounds down a week.

I've decided to only weigh in once a month. The scale really throws me off if I don't see a loss every time I get on it.

Anywho, here I am, nice to meet ya!

          Hi

What a fantastic start!! Why dont you join the no-weigh challenge to help keep you on track!!

And make sure you measure yourself - I know I have lost inches and no weight sometimes, so I'm glad I measure both or else I would be really dis-heartend!!

Good luck with the second week of atkins, I cant wait to see how you've done

            Re: Hi, newbie here!

Welcome Dar, this is a good place for motivation, also don't let the scale influence you. A lot of people don't loose in their third and fourth week, then start loosing again. Weighing once a month is good. I weigh in once a week and sometimes it can be frustrating because weight fluctuates so much. Keep a positive attitude............Dawn

Wow, thanks for the great welcome! Okay, I'm curious, what's the no-weigh challenge?

I'm working outside the house this afternoon. I just spent the last hour preparing lots of induction foods and snacks to bring with me. Not to mention water. I love my water. I'm probably packing too much food but I want to be prepared for anything.
