  • hi everyone...

Hi my name is Tonya 2much2loose.lol . That is the way I feel anyways . Started the induction a couple of days ago. Today is day 3 for me. I have never done this diet before. I know it can be sorta strict but, I figured I could go without some of the things I like to eat to Love the way I look and feel. There has to be some sorta compromise. I am a mom of 3 and 38 yrs of age. SHHH don't tell anyone. I currently way 162 and I am 5'2.. Yeah I know a little over weight but guess what if I wasn't I wouldn't get to meet any of you lovely people. Well any help you could through my way would be greatly appreciated. I tried to do this diet several months back with no success. I was taking zoloft and I could not go into Ketosis. I had my dr. swith my meds to wellbutrin so, I am hoping that that might of been the reason. Was on the diet for 3 mo. exercising at the gym for 2 hrs. a day 5 days a week.. Got discouraged when I didn't loose even a pound. So, better luck this time hopefully. We'll have to see. Well, love the sight . I am glad to be here. You guys are very supportive to one another...2much2loose!!!!!

                        Re: hi everyone...

Thanks so much. I appreciate the welcome. Have run into a slight problem and if anyone could help I would appreciate it. I am having trouble testing possitive with lipostix. The first 3 days I was having some caffine. I just bought decafe coffee to see if maybe that is the problem. I use splenda in my coffee and I love diet coke. I don't mind caffine free cola but, I probably should cut back on those as well. I mean I know that artificial sweetners can sometimes cause problems too.I am drinking my water. I also want to ask about suggestions for a vitamin I should take.Today I have eatten nothing but protien. I am hopping that maybe that will kick something into gear. I still weigh the same too. I know I should not look at the scale for 14 days but, that one is difficult for me. Well any input would be appreciated.
                        Thanks,
                        Tonya

                          Re: hi everyone...

Hi Tonya! You should be eating more than just protein. You should be eating 2 cups of salad veggies as well as one cup of other veggie every day for the first 2 weeks! Maybe go to Review my Menu and post a couple of days worth of foods you've eaten. Hidden sugars maybe? Other hidden carbs? I doubt the caffiene will keep you out of ketosis, but possible.

Lots of us use www.fitday.com to track our daily food intake. If you plug in your foods for the past few days perhaps it will help to determine if something is amiss.

Hi its me again. I have been eating the salads and veggies but, in the book it says, if you have trouble reaching Ketosis, that you should take away the salad and veggies. Only eat protien until your stick turns lavender then you can add the salad back. Well, that is where I am at. Thanks for the web sight. I will go there next. So much to learn. Oh I am sure I will figure it out soon enough. Oh, 1 more thing are the Atkin bars allowed in the induction phase. well thanks again...Tonya

                              Re: hi everyone...

You should keep eating the veggies at least the first 14 days. Then decide if you need the fat fast method. You're only day four and your body needs to adjust to this way of eating. Don't panic yet, complete the 14 day induction and see where you're at then. The veggies are very important, and they wouldn't be the culprit this early in the game.

Keep in mind Atkins is a corporation and wants you to buy their products. In general, most of us advise against the bars. Regardless of deducting fiber grams of carbs, if the bars say 18 carbs and 2 net carbs, guess what, you're eating 18 carbs. It's much better to eat whole, natural foods over processed ones.
