Hello everyone! I'm excited to be starting on Monday, however I am a bit unclear as to the amount of vegetables I should be eating on induction. Would you all say including veggies with one meal a day fits into the guidelines?
Hey there, you need to go to the 14 day induction forum and read the stickies about the rules of induction, for quick answers...and if you can get a copy of the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution that would really benefit your attempt. 3 cup of selected veggies, salad being 2 cups for the day. Then there is a list of other legal veggies you can have a cup of those...Spread your veggie out in a day. I am not into salad, so I make a lot of lettuce wraps, wrapping up chicken salad, tuna, egg salad, lunch meat.
Good luck.

Hello and a warm welcome to you Dearlesley. Glad you found us here!
Yes... Jess is right. You need to eat 3 cups of induction acceptable veggies per day... spread out.
Here are a couple of useful links to get you off to a good start until you get a copy of your book (this board goes by the DANDR 2002 edition, which is the last one that Dr A wrote in its entirety):

Hi dearlesley! Welcome to the board. Veggies are a very important part of eating this way, even in induction! I hope you've had the chance to take a look at the links sallyseachange has provided for you! Better yet, buy the 2002 edition of DANDR, you will be amazed by this process and the book will become permamently attached to your hands!
I too am starting tomorrow. I am 51. 5'6" and 157lbs. Would like to get back to 140. Since going through menopause, my weight has crept up. Last year at this time I weighed 150. So tomorrow I am getting back on track.
Several years ago, I did Atkins and was amazed at the quick and steady wieght loss. I did get down to 140. And was able to stay within 3-4 pounds of that for four years.
I know what went wrong. My activity level decreased. But my food intake didn't.
So I know what to do and hopefully get back to where I want to be.
Ladies thanks SOO much. The rules of induction link was very helpful! I couldn't get into the other though. I'm getting excited about this, I really need to lose about 40lbs by July. I just want to make sure I don't sabotage myself before I start. I'll keep you posted!!

Oooops sorry Dearlesley. That link suddenly won't work for me either. I wonder why?
You can find the induction acceptable foods list though, if you look in the FAQs (on the bar near the top of the page). Look for a thread called "What Foods can be Eaten on Induction".
Warm welcome to you too LowCarbLucy!
