  • Veteran Dieter in a New Land...

Hello, everyone! I am not new to the Atkins way of life - I've been temporarily successful at least twice in the past using Dr. Atkins' programs. I am one of those veteran dieters - my mother had me on my first diet at the age of 8. I can't think of a time in the last 47 years when I did not think about weight reduction or worried about gaining weight. This past weekend, I simply resigned myself to the facts ... Atkins is the only diet and lifestyle that has worked for me. Each time I lost weight and went back to regular eating, I regained the lost weight and then more! I have concluded that eating the "normal" American way (including potatos, sugar, bread and desserts) is impossible for my physiology. This past Monday, I found my Atkins books, returned to Induction and a new beginning. As expected, I quickly lost 5.5 pounds. I am looking forward to the remaining 70 extra pounds melting off. The one item I am missing is a support system or other people who follow Dr. Atkin's program and philosophy. I am glad that I found this forum and look forward to learning and sharing success.
