  • Hey everyone

Hi folks...been watching this board for a few months now and finally decided to make the decision to go with a new lifestyle. I saw what many of you have done and are currently doing and it's really very impressive.

Pretty cut and dry on my part...I am not severely overweight but I do need to lose pounds for a multitude of reasons. I am currently one week into Induction and while the first few days were rough I really am amazed at how little I crave the stuff I ate on a daily basis...which was basically TONS of carbs! You can see the one week results below...and yes, I am drinking lots of water! I love to cook so this is actually interesting for me because I am finding fun new ways to whip up things differently every night.

Anyway, look forward to talking back and forth with all of you and thanks for giving me the direction I needed.

Thanks everyone for the nice greeting.

Yes Jess...my energy level way up and I have started to gradually work out on an elliptical machine as well to coincide with the diet. You can burn some serious calories on those things!

Great job John. Nice going, 10 pounds in one week. Sweet. Good going with the cravings. Since you love to cook, you might want to check out some of the cook books by Dana Carpendar (Might not have that right spelling) do a search on 500 Lo Carb Recipes, and 500 More Lo Carb Recipes, also George Stella from Food TV Network, has a couple, the one I have is Low Carb And Loving It, however, for induction and OWL the first 2 cook books are the way to go. Good Luck and keep us posted bud!

              Great job!

Once again thank you to all...right now I have stalled on 205 pounds for the last two days but I am following Induction, drinking my water and working out twice a day on the elliptical...so I am thinking the no carbs and exercise thing has my body in total shock and it's not ready to let lose anymore weight yet. I understand this is normal so I am not too concerned but it would be nice to see the scale start changing again!

                  Re: Hey everyone

Two days is nothing really... your body needs to take a breather from weight loss sometimes. Also, if your workouts are a new thing it could be that you're making muscle (which weighs heavier than fat) and losing inches rather than lbs.
